Our youth programming is also aimed at giving youth the chance to build a community for themselves. We do that by holding regular events and community sessions that encourage and focus on physical and mental health, vocational mentorship, educational guidance, and much more.

Another goal of YL4C is to help Muslim youth find and create an identity for themselves in the community. Youth groups have participated in Counter speech Labs to learn from local communications and marketing experts abouthow toaddress Islamophobia online.
YL4C also brought together a first-ever Waterloo Region Muslim Youth Council to study and assess the gaps in mental health services for Muslim youth. The group of youth is at the helm of the study and is in charge of conducting focus groups among peers. Their efforts will resultin a report that will offer solutions and suggestions to local mental health professionals and other community stakeholders. In future, the group will continue to work on projects that identify service gapsimpacted by Islamophobia and discrimination.
